Clarence attended Grinnell College in Iowa and studied Sociology and Psychology, turning his focus towards the Human Body and Human Movement during his senior yr. Since graduating college in 2009, Clarence has been a full time trainer in Hyde Park. He has found his niche in using the applied methods of functional training. To him functional training is application of movements that improve a person’s quality of life. Examples of functional training include learning proper squat form and how to pick up heavy object while squatting so that when you pick up a heavy package or case of water, the form is habitual and you don't pull your back. Another example is performing exercises that help strengthen the shoulder complex such as, shoulder press, lateral raises etc. so that you can put your own luggage in the over head bin. Clarence offers safe and effective training for any age and any skill level.
